What is the difference between a firebowl and a firesphere?

A firesphere is an enclosed sphere with the design cut into the surface. A firebowl is a half sphere, much like an open bowl, with the design cut from the outer edge. Spheres will be heavier than the bowls, as the bowls are roughly half the height.

What are firebowls and firespheres used for?

Our firebowls and spheres are a great way to keep warm as the temperature starts to drop. You can also use them to cook food, toast marshmallows or extend your summer evenings by using them to help create a sociable place for friends and family to gather.

Are firebowls and firespheres safe?

Anything which has open fire requires a little caution, but if used sensibly, they are completely safe.

We recommend that you think about where your firebowl or firesphere is going to stand, ideally it should be placed away from anything flammable and on a flat surface. Children and pets should both be supervised if they are in the vicinity of a firebowl or firesphere. It is always advisable to have a bucket of water and a first aid kit somewhere accessible, in case of an emergency.

Can you cook on your products?

Yes, the pieces are great for cooking and socialising. If you would like your firebowl to be used for cooking, we can discuss this during the initial design stages and adapt the design to enable you to use it for cooking more easily.

What do you burn in a firesphere or firebowl?

We always recommend you burn dry fuel in our products, as this will ensure you produce more heat and less smoke. Kiln dried logs, with a low moisture content (under 20%), or charcoal are the ideal fuels to burn. The best way to light the fuel is by using a natural firelighter, ideally made from a renewable material. Not only is it better for the environment, it is also ideal for cooking as it won’t affect the taste of your food.

What makes a Wildfire Bespoke product so special?

When you use our bespoke service your end product is completely unique. We look at your ideas and photos and work with you to craft something special which is both personal and individual.

How long will a firebowl or firesphere last?

Your Wildfire product should last a lifetime. Our products are crafted from 6mm British steel, which ensures they are more robust than many others on the market. You can choose to either have a fireproof painted coating or just leave it to age naturally. If you choose a natural finish, it will weather to create a beautiful surface, in a similar way to many other outdoor sculptures and metal work.
